July 3rd

Will be her birthday if she doesn't come sooner. Man, this is surreal.
Talked to Mandy last night. It was another great conversation. We talked about the birth dad and both feeling a bit unsure about him as a loose end, we talked about the doctors appointment, we talked about after she is born. It is good. So, since there is no change in her status at this point, same same, we will probably be looking at a July 3 inducement. Now that we are past the scary parts, she will probably wait. Who knows. 35 weeks and 4 days today. At this point, nothing to worry about but the normal stuff. Heart beat sounded good. Didn't seem like she was getting too big. Mandy is doing well...ready to be done, but I think that is normal, and probably enhanced by the understanding that she will not go home with the baby. She was a little worried because I had mentioned looking into hotels for us and she thought that meant that we wouldn't stay with her the first night, which is not the case. I was looking in case the baby has an extended stay in the ICU, which is less likely now. So we are all in good shape.
So there you go!

Any Given Monday

Well, no news is good news. Sorry it has been so long. Just tried to call Mandy for an update, but she is out...probably at the pool or her sisters with the boys. Wait! I think it is doctor day, so she should call tonight to let me know what is up. So I will try to blog again tonight when we get back from dinner. I talked to her a couple of times and she is the same, so I doubt there will be anything that dramatic. People at the reading are VERY excited for me. Last year I had told them we were just beginning the process and now there is a kid coming our way. Crazy. There are a bunch of people who have adopted and they are especially excited for us. It is pretty cool to hear their experiences and perspectives.
I'm tired. They work us like dogs here.
