Yesterday afternoon we had our first get together with Mandy and her boys since we left the hospital last month. Mandy looked great! She had been carrying around a lot of water weight and is looking like the incredible shrinking woman. Violet wore her jungle girl outfit and looked great. Mandy loved it. The boys were all happy to see her too. Mostly she slept, but Mandy did get to feed her and snuggle her a while. We put together a short naming ceremony and Violet wore my family's christening gown for the event. It was important to Ken and I that Mandy and her boys be a part of that tradition as they are also part of her family in our eyes. It was a great meeting, went well, and it felt good to reconnect with Mandy. We will see her again on our way to Ken's family at the end of the month, for a quick visit on our way through C'ville.

Grilling with the YaƱez family.
Eric, Janet, Teagan and baby boy to be recently moved to St. Louis. Fortunately Eric still has to work in Nashville from time to time, so he will bring Janet and Teagan down with him when he does. Janet was part of the shower planning committee too, so she was obligated! They all came over the other night to be rescued from restaurant food and the hotel. We waited for them out on the deck, in the house and all around...grilled and ate some good food, and watched Teagan play...mostly with the dog door. We thought we were safe, until she was following Ruby when she went through. Then it was in and out, over and over again. She held Violet a couple of times and said, "the baby is very heavy." Janet and Eric are hoping she will be ready for her little brother when he arrives in October. (Name suggestions welcome...I will pass them on.)
A good photo of me finally

With my girl...taken by Grammy Pat at the shower.
This is the black outfit I bought for daddy...he wanted her to wear some black. So we found this little flowered ditty for special occasions!
